MAC Surfacing is 15 years old in 2019, transforming in that time from one man, one mini paver and a beavertail into a fleet of over 50 top quality machines and numerous divisions.

1 It's actually a 15-year family business- that wasn't born as MAC!

Started in 2004 by Mark Copson Snr, MAC Surfacing was originally named SM Pavers!

Initial operations were focused around a mini paver and a beavertail, before becoming the one-stop surfacing solution MAC is today.

The company is still engulfed in family values, with Mark Copson now Chairman of MAC. These family values are reflected in their emphasis on, and attitude to service- making sure each client receives that family feel through the level of care provided.

2 - MAC are a specialist in diversification

The MAC vision is to provide the ultimate surfacing solution, and over 15 years, the company has developed and diversified in order to do so.

Now providing planer and paver hire, labour supply, plant haulage and maintenance, not to mention a 24-hour support service - the 15-year evolution has been great.

"Our mission is to be the supplier of choice for hire based road surfacing requirements, we endeavour to offer a modern fleet, competitive service encompassing the highest standards of quality workmanship and strictest of safety standards. "

3 - MAC provides nationwide delivery from more than one depot

Head office is, and always has been based in Tipton in the West Midlands. However, throughout the company development into the major national contractor it is today.

MAC has branched out into the South West, Manchester and London in order to be closer to clients across the UK. It enables the faster response time and increased efficiency of their whole operation. Another tick for service!

4 - Charity and community is at the heart of the business

From animal adoptions to charity skydives, MAC Surfacing has reached out into their community for charitable causes for as long as the company can remember.

The family ethos of MAC means they are always looking for good causes to support, and over the years have raised over £20,000 for a number of causes.

Other fundraisers have included climbing Ben Nevis, charity walks, boxing matches and linking up with Macmillan to battle against cancer.

Additionally to their charity work, MAC focuses on their community by employing from within them, sponsoring local sports teams and community projects, as well as use local suppliers wherever possible.

5 - Fully accredited and compliant

MAC are committed to achieving the highest standards of quality, service, and health and safety so they have spent 15 years investing in the training and development of their staff.

As such, they work hard to maintain their accreditations including ISO 9001, CHAS, Safe Contractor and Construction Line, with an active drive to push towards UKAS accreditation for ISO 14001 and 18001.

MAC are also a member of CECA, Safeplane, the FTA and Avetta and hold FORS accreditations.
