What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files placed on your device. Browser storage serves a similar purpose. They can support security, remember a choice or help show which website activity led to an enquiry.
Your choice
Optional Google Analytics stays off unless you select Accept optional cookies. Rejecting analytics does not stop you using the website or contact form. You can change your analytics choice at any time by selecting Cookie preferences in the footer. WhatConverts call attribution operates separately on each visit so we can identify which marketing activity results in enquiries.
Essential storage
- mac-cookie-consent-v1: local browser storage that records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, the date and the policy version. It lasts for up to 12 months, unless you clear it sooner.
- Cloudflare Turnstile security data: used on the contact form to distinguish people from automated abuse. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar signals needed to provide this security service. These are treated as essential because the public form cannot be operated safely without the spam check.
Optional website analytics
If you accept optional cookies, Google Tag Manager loads our approved measurement tags, including Google Analytics. Google Analytics may set identifiers such as _ga (typically up to two years) and property-specific _ga_* cookies (typically up to two years). These help us measure visits, pages viewed and website interactions. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are not requested before you accept.
Call attribution
WhatConverts loads on each visit and may use the following first-party cookies and matching local browser storage:
- wc_visitor: recognises a visitor for attribution, up to 400 days.
- wc_client: stores the original traffic and visit source, up to 180 days.
- wc_client_current: stores the current visit source for the browser session.
The information can include the page address, referring page, search or campaign details and a visitor identifier. It helps us understand which website activity results in calls or enquiries.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Select Cookie preferences in the footer and choose a new analytics setting. Existing analytics cookies may remain until they expire or you clear them through your browser settings, but the website will not send further Google Analytics data while optional cookies are rejected. You can clear WhatConverts and analytics cookies through your browser settings.
