Tell us what needs removing
A road planer removes the existing surface. A paver lays the new asphalt. Start with the size and depth of the removal, then tell us how the machine and tippers can reach the work.
Access and loading
Tell us the narrowest entrance, any height or turning restrictions and whether there is room for the planer to load into tippers.
Removed material
Tell us whether the removed material needs loading away, stockpiling on site or leaving for your team. MAC will confirm the tipper plan.
Timing and detail
Include the working hours, when the area needs to be ready again, any manholes, drains or edges needing careful work and any drawings or photos you have.
What MAC confirms
We use those details to check which cutting width and planer size fit, how the planer will load into tippers, whether a sweeper or extra wagons are needed and whether the required output needs more than one planer. When do you hire a road planer?+

What does road planer hire include?+

Can you supply the tippers and sweepers with the planer?+
Yes, tippers and sweepers can run as supporting plant around our planing work. The machine, operators and site movements are coordinated as one package. They are not offered as standalone hire.
Where do you supply road planers?+
Our core patch is the West Midlands, roughly 60 miles, where we turn around quickest. For larger, longer programmes we deliver nationally. If a job sits at the edge of sensible travel we will say so on day one rather than overstretch the crew and let you down mid-programme.
Is the planing self-delivered, or subcontracted on?+
It is self-delivered by our own plant and trained operators. The planing pass is done by a crew that knows the kit, not a body in the seat. Good planing sets the next trade up to succeed.
What happens if a machine goes down mid-job?+
We repair or swap it from our in-house workshop rather than wait on an external hire desk. We hold 24/7 responsiveness to act on it. We plan for the bad day before it happens.
Are your operators properly qualified?+
Yes, operatives hold the cards the work demands, including CSCS, MPQC, NPORS and NVQ Level 2. Supervisors are qualified up to NVQ Level 6, SMSTS and SSSTS. Training is ongoing in-house.
Are you accredited for highways and main-contractor work?+
We hold ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 plus CPA, CHAS, Avetta and Constructionline Gold. We are an Armed Forces Covenant Gold employer. Delivery is audit-ready and SHEQ-compliant.
