CSR – Our Commitment to the Community

What is CSR?‍

Corporate social responsibility or most commonly known by the acronym CSR, is a form of corporate self-regulation that is integrated into the operation of a business that aims to further some social good beyond the interests of the company. Becoming popular in the 1960s businesses across the globe have embraced the opportunity to give something back to local communities or charitable projects overseas to provide a moral or ethical stand point.

Our Commitment‍

Most companies have implemented some form of corporate social and environmental responsibility into their operation with the broad goal of simply contributing to the wellbeing of the communities and society that they affect and on which they depend. At MAC Surfacing Limited, we don't just embrace CSR because we feel we should, but because we believe it is our corporate responsibility to work closely with the local community in the West Midlands to help support the local economy. We strongly believe that by helping local people by offering apprenticeships, work experience and training opportunities, we are making a positive impact on the lives of local people that are interested in working in the road surfacing industry.

One of Our CSR Projects‍

Being local, we are always keen to develop local talent and one of the projects we decided to support and sponsor was the Goalkeeper Development Scheme enabling young people to have the opportunity to play. The Goalkeeper Development Scheme has been run by Dave Woodhall and his team of trusted coaches for over 20 years; which was set up to develop young goalkeepers and coaches throughout the West Midlands. Through our sponsorship the Goalkeeper Development visited Malta to run a week long development programme for the young Maltese keepers and free coach education courses for Maltese coaches in St Julian?s, taking 21 of their own team of young players and coaches along. At MAC Surfacing Limited we believe in supporting the local community we operate in by providing a well-run, reliable service and giving something back, wherever possible, through steps such as sponsoring local sporting talent.
