COVID-19 Update
MAC Updates
Message from the MD, Marc Copson.
"To our Customers, Suppliers and Employees.
In light of the announcement from the Prime Minister on Monday 23rd March - we are continuing to monitor the situation in a great amount of detail.
On a number of our contracts, we are considered a Key Worker and it is therefore, business as usual.
We are aware of the invisible risk and continue to implement processes to keep our valued staff safe whilst equally supporting the government in keeping the transport network safe.
We have of course, received a number of cancellations predominantly on building sites but all major roadworks planned are still going ahead as normal.
We have a pipeline of works that are now parked until further notice.
With regards to employees and sub contractors, we will be rolling out an update before the end of the week as to the bigger picture.
Customers, may I please ask that you continue to pay us for our works so that we may pay our suppliers and staff accordingly. Cash has never been more vital and we cannot have it held back.
I would like to personally thank all employees and sub contractors working for our company, your continued support is appreciated in these unprecedented times."
- A crisis team consisting of our senior management teams has been established who talk in a formal manner, daily via video link or controlled office environment if wholly necessary and unavoidable.
- We continue to keep a close watch on developing government and NHS guidelines. We have taken a number of actions to protect our employees and others who we come into contact with. This includes a daily shift risk assessment specifically for COVID-19 and rolling our of hand gels, bacterial wipes and stronger cleaning practices across the business.
- Our cleaning team rota for our office has changed and hours have been increased to ensure we can maintain good cleaning practices and limit exposure to others.
- We have limited non essential travel and in person meetings. Where a meeting is necessary then these are to be held by call or video conferencing. Any face to face meetings that are wholly necessary must be planned, by mutual agreement and risk assessed in advance.
- No external people are allowed to visit our offices and last minute meetings are banned so the required risks can be assessed and controlled.
- Distancing measure awareness has been provided and implemented across the business
- A rota system has been rolled out for the office staff to ensure we have continuity of skeleton staff for the office but the rota ensures no two groups of people will come into contact and key members have contingency cover in the event of infection to ensure Business Continuity
- We have assessed the business and moved processes and people to limit as much contact as possible
- We have existing sophisticated IT systems for homeworking, these have been piloted and will be fully operational w/c 23rd March where all office members will work from home, 4 days a week.
- We are liaising with all customers, suppliers and manufacturers to ensure we react quickly and mitigate and potential disruption to services. We have sufficient stocks of parts and wear parts for machines but will increase stocks gradually to ensure machines will run smoothly. The same applies to PPE and consumables.
- Identifying and supporting employees recognised as high risk in accordance with NHS guidance and providinig well being advice through their period of self isolation
- Site Rules for Visitors and Contractors has been produced and attached below, it is necessary for all site operations until further notice
- A risk assessment has been rolled out and measures implemented including reduction of amount of people in any one vehicle for example.
