New MD ready to take the hot seat
After 13 Years at the helm, MAC Surfacing founder and current Managing Director Mark Copson will now move into the role of Chairman, making way for Mark Hibbert to become his replacement as Managing Director.
MAC Surfacing has grown exponentially since 2004 when Mr Copson started out as a solo contractor focused on a mini-paver and beavertail lorry to support road surfacing companies. As the company has grown and grown, the range of services provided by MAC has grown too. Now a nationally recognised provider of planer and paver hire, labour supply, surfacing plant and plant haulage in addition to plant maintenance.

As we hit the mid-way point of 2017, Mark Copson will now vacate the role as MAC Managing Director. Moving into the position of Chairman, Mark Hibbert will replace Mark (Copson) as MD at MAC Surfacing. Mark's duties as chairman in the short term will now involve advising and supporting Mark Hibbert as he makes the transition to the Managing Director role. In the longer term, the Chairman position will be one of consultancy, in addition to keeping involved in the day-to-day running of key company accounts.
New MD Mark (Hibbert) has been in the surfacing industry for 16 years, starting in 2001 on the tools as a surfacing operative and subsequently working himself up into positions of management. Mark's first foray into management was in a sales position, but he now has extensive experience of dealing with a wide variety of people at all levels of a business. Now with MAC Surfacing for 3 years, Mark makes the step up to MD to take the reins on the hire side of the business.

Mark Hibbert told us:
