The Sky Is The Limit for Jake

The Sky Is The Limit for Jake

MAC director, Jake Wherton, will take a leap of faith this November after committing to a charity sky dive in aid of Cancer Research.

Jake is bidding to raise £5,000 for the charity by diving from a plane at 10,000 feet. Subject to weather conditions, the event will take place at Skydive Tilstock Parachute Club in Whitchurch, Shropshire at midday on Saturday 26th November.

Jake said: "We were discussing ideas for fundraising and when a colleague suggested a skydive, I jumped at the chance! I know many people who's lives have been touched by this dreadful disease, so I am proud to be able to play my part in raising funds to combat it."

A PROUD TRADITION

Building on the success of last year's fund raising efforts - which saw over £6,000 raised for Cancer Research - MAC Surfacing has once again chosen to support the charity after an overwhelming vote from customers, suppliers, staff and the local community via social media.

Director Marc Copson said: "As well as providing a great service to our clients, we pride ourselves on making a positive difference to our people and our community too. It's a community which has supported our success over many years and a charity such as Cancer Research could potentially help any of us in the future.

"Cancer is a disease which has had a huge influence on the company. Three years ago we lost our much-loved supervisor Malcolm Bowen, whose two sons John and Jason still work with us. And we all have friends or family who have suffered.

"Our fundraising efforts are part of a real focus on becoming a truly socially responsible business and we'll be taking part in a series of events to help us reach our targets throughout the year. We're proud that Jake has taken on this challenge and we massively appreciate any donations large or small."
