Fitzgerald Contractors Ltd engaged with us in November 2022 to discuss their requirements and tight programme. After several meetings and a walk of the site, we agreed to undertake the work.
The initial scope was for us to arrive on site in February 2023 to plane and relay the surface course across the entire 44,000m2 car park. However, once the site was cleared and the groundworks began, it became clear that more substantial repairs would be needed in certain areas. Although the scope was changing, the deadline had to remain fixed. We agreed on a couple of different treatment plans and gave Fitzgerald the flexibility of calling us in for either treatment with just 3 days notice.
We worked with Fitzgerald to create a phasing plan, whereby multiple contractors could be on site simultaneously to ensure the deadline was met, but no one’s safety or workmanship was compromised. The main area was planned over 3 days and resurfaced over 8 days, with no incidents or defects. The site was completed on time and handed over to a very happy client. We were pleased to play a small part in this project.
