Project Overview

Full kerb realigning and footpath reconstruction project.

Civils - The team excavated the existing footway and carted away to a local recycling centre for processing and use as sub base in the reconstruction phase. We also excavated all kerbs and edging kerbs and replaced these with new. This also involved surveying the existing levels and redesigning and realigning where necessary. All ironwork within the footway was reset to the correct levels. We also installed numerous road gullies and Accochannels to aid with drainage where there were historic issues.

Surfacing - The surfacing crew made the excavated footway levels up with recycled materials and compacted before laying 50 mm AC20 Dense Binder Course and 25 mm AC6 Dense Surface Course.

Minor Landscaping - The team then tidied the whole site up which also included soiling and seeding and the making good of existing grassed areas.

One of the main issues the team faced was the phasing of the work and the need to re-design sections of the job on the hop due existing drainage issues. We overcame these problems by offering a thorough and consultative approach to the programming of each phase along with the flexibility to change the programme as and when it was required.

We had lots of good feedback from both the local residents and the Client for the standard of work carried out and the excellent attitude of all the crews on site. https://www.facebook.com/100003532784444/posts/4206216162839435/?d=n
