We've assisted planing the existing carriage way down to sufficient depths to allow MMA to excavate and install the suitable foundations to lay the tram tracks on. Once the tracks are laid, we've laid different specifications of materials between the tracks. This began as a tedious and pains takingly slow process, but with collaboration between MAC Surfacing and MMA we've increased our outputs by 103%. Some of the work has hadto be done in extremely narrow working windows, so it's been imperative that we've been able to demonstrate adequatecontingency planning.
Our client has struggled finding compromises with the design team, sowe've played an active role in consulting with material suppliers and finding solutions that tick the right boxes and ultimately serve the right purpose. We invested into a specialist Micro Paver to carry out the track work and that we used Road to Rail Vehicles to transport materials.
Although at first this project looked like an absolute nightmare to deliver, we've put 1,000's of hours into it and found asolution that works for everyone.
